Een middag vol hedendaagse en historische performance strategieën in het kader van Project Perform 08/09.

Project Perform richt zich op beeldend kunstenaars en professionals die zich bezighouden met performancekunst. In hoeverre laten zij zich nog leiden door vaste formats als ‘white cube’, ‘authenticiteit’ en ‘eenmaligheid’? En welke performance strategieën ontdekken en hanteren zij in hun werk?

Freelance curator Krist Gruijthuijsen (NL) zal kunstenaars en professionals Ben Benaouisse (BE), Nicoline van Harskamp (NL), Helmut Dick (DE), Lydia Schouten (NL), Elke van Campenhout (BE) en Eva Fotiadi (GR) aan de tand voelen over performativiteit, strategieën en ontwikkelingen binnen hedendaagse performancekunst.

An afternoon full of contemporary and historical performance strategies in the context of Project Perform 08/09. Project Perform focuses on visual artists and professionals involved in performance art. To what extent are they still being guided by fixed formats such as 'white cube', 'authenticity' and 'uniqueness'? And what performance strategies do they discover and practise in their work? Freelance curator Krist Gruijthuijsen (NL) will interview artists and professionals Ben Benaouisse (BE), Nicoline van Harskamp (NL), Helmut Dick (DE), Lydia Schouten (NL), Elke van Campenhout (BE) and Eva Fotiadi (GR) about performativity, strategies and developments in contemporary performance art.
